পরিচিতি

এবামেকটিন মূলত কৃষিক্ষেত্রে বহুল ব্যবহৃত একটি কীটনাশক। এর প্রতি লিটারে ১৮ গ্রাম এবামেকটিন আছে, তাই একে '১.৮ ইসি" বিষ বলা হয়ে থাকে। এবামেকটিন একাধারে Insecticide- কীটনাশক, Acaricide- মাকড়নাশক এবং Newmatiocide- কৃমিনাশক হিসেবে কাজ করে। 

এটি স্পর্শক এবং পাকস্থলীয় গুণসম্পন্ন হওয়ায় পোকা-মাকড়ের গায়ে পড়লে পোকা মারা যায় এবং এটি প্রয়োগকৃত শস্য,ফুল,ফল পোকা মাকড় ভক্ষণ করলেও মারা যায়। এর প্রভাবে ডগা ও ফলের ভেতরে অবস্থিত পোকাও বাঁচতে পারে না। এছাড়াও এটি ট্রান্সলেমিনার গুণসম্পন্ন হওয়ায় উপরে স্প্রে করলে পাতার এপিডার্মিস স্তর ভেদ করে নিচে চলে আসে। এতে নিচে অবস্থানরত পোকা মাকড় রস শোষণ করলেও মারা যায়। এর কার্যকারিতা অন্যান্য সাধারণ কীটনাশকের চেয়ে অনেক দিন বেশি স্থায়ী থাকে। 

ব্যবহারবিধি 

কৃষিক্ষেত্রে এটি সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহার হয়ে থাকে। বিভিন্ন পোকা-মাকড়ের আক্রমণ থেকে গাছকে রক্ষা করার জন্য এটি প্রয়োগ করা হয়। নিচে এর কিছু ব্যবহারবিধি দেওয়া হলো। 

মাকড়নাশক   

মাকড়নাশক হিসেবে এটির ব্যবহার সর্বোচ্চ হয়ে থাকে। বিভিন্ন সবজি যেমন শসা, করলা, ঝিঙা ইত্যাদি সকল কুমড়া জাতীয় ফসল, বেগুন, ঢেড়স, মরিচ, কচু এবং বিভিন্ন ফল গাছ যেমন- পেঁপে, লিচু, নারিকেল, মাল্টা ইত্যাদি সকল প্রকার ফসলে অতি ক্ষুদ্র লাল মাকড় বা মাইট আক্রমণ করে।  

এই পোকার আক্রমণে গাছের পাতা প্রথমত নিচের দিকে কুঁকড়ে যায় এবং পরবর্তীতে ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়ে গাছ নষ্ট হয়ে যায়। তাই এই মাকড় দমনের জন্য ৯৫% কৃষক এবামেকটিন ব্যবহার করে থাকেন। গাছকে ভাইরাসের আক্রমণ থেকে রক্ষা করে সুস্থ-স্ববল নীরোগ রাখার জন্য এবামেকটিনের গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম। ফল ও ডগাছিদ্রকারী পোকা দমনের জন্যও এটির ব্যবহার খুবই ফলদায়ক। স্থানীয়ভাবে অনুপ্রবেশ করার ক্ষমতা থাকায় বেগুন, শিম সহ বিভিন্ন সবজির ফল ও ডগার ভেতরে লুকিয়ে থাকা পোকাও মেরে ফেলে। 

ল্যাদা পোকা দমন  

ল্যাদা পোকা ও সকল প্রকার পাতা ও গাছ খাদক পোকা দমনের জন্য এটি ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। 

জাব পোকা দমন  

জাবপোকা দমনের জন্য এটি প্রয়োগ করেও খুবই সন্তষজনক ফলাফল পাওয়া যায়। তাছাড়া অন্তবাহীগুন থাকার জন্য শোষক পোকাও দমন হয়। 

কৃমিনাশক  

কৃমিনাশক হিসেবেও এটি কাজ করে। ধান ক্ষেতে অথবা জলাবদ্ধ স্থানে সরু লাল সুতার মতো দেখতে এক জাতীয় নোমাটেড(কৃমি) মাটির সাথে থেকে নড়াচড়া করতে দেখা যায়। কার্বোফুরান অথবা ফিপ্রনিনেও এটি মরে না। এই নোমাটেড দমনে এবামেকটিন হচ্ছে সহজ সমাধান। ৩৩ শতকে ১৫০-২০০ মিলি এবামেকটিন ১.৮ ইসি সারের সাথে মিশিয়ে প্রয়োগ করলে অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই এগুলো মারা যায়।    

এছাড়াও এটি লাল পিঁপড়া, ছারপোকা ও অন্যান্য পরজীবী পোকা দমনে ব্যবহার করা যায়। 

ব্যবহারের মাত্রা  

সাধারণত সবজির ক্ষেত্রে ১০ লিটার পানিতে ১২ মিলি মিশিয়ে প্রয়োগ করতে হয়। তবে চা, পাট, বেগুন, বিভিন্ন ফল গাছ ইত্যাদির ক্ষেত্রে ১০ লিটার পানিতে ২০-২৫ মিলি মিশিয়ে স্প্রে করতে হয়। 

সতর্কতা  

এটি অন্যান্য সকল সাধারণ কীটনাশকের সাথে মিশিয়ে স্প্রে করা যায়। তবে এটিকে ছত্রাকনাশকের সাথে মিশিয়ে স্প্রে করা যাবে না। 

এটি স্পর্শক এবং পাকস্থলীয় গুণসম্পন্ন হওয়ায় পোকা-মাকড়ের গায়ে পড়লে পোকা মারা যায়। তবে মানুষের শরীরে পড়লে বা খেয়ে ফেললে সমস্যা হয় না।

Application and Usage 

Abamectin is predominantly used in agriculture to safeguard crops from various pests and diseases. Below are its specific applications:

1. Acaricide Application 

Abamectin is highly effective against mites. It is commonly used on vegetables like cucumber, bitter, ridge gourd, eggplant, okra, chili, taro, and fruit trees like papaya, lychee, coconut, and citrus fruits. 

Mites, such as red spider mites, can cause significant damage by curling leaves downward and eventually transmitting viruses that destroy the plants. To combat mite infestations, over 95% of farmers rely on abamectin, as it prevents viral attacks and maintains plant health. It is also effective against fruit borers and stem-boring pests that hide inside crops like eggplants and beans.

2. Control of Leaf-Eating Caterpillars

Abamectin works efficiently against leaf-eating caterpillars and other foliage-damaging pests.

3. Aphid Control

Abamectin yields excellent results in combating aphids. Its systemic properties ensure that sap-sucking insects are eradicated effectively.

4. Nematicidal Properties

Abamectin is also a potent nematicide. In rice fields or waterlogged areas, slender red thread-like nematodes often remain resilient against common pesticides like carbofuran or fipronil. However, abamectin provides a simple solution. Mixing 150-200 mL of Abamectin 1.8 EC with fertilizers and applying it to 33 decimals of land eradicates these nematodes swiftly.

5. Other Applications

Abamectin can also control:

• Red ants

• Bedbugs

• Other parasitic pests

Recommended Dosage

• Vegetables: Mix 12 mL of Abamectin in 10 liters of water for application.

• Tea, jute, eggplant, and fruit trees: Use 20-25 mL per 10 liters of water.

Precautions 

• Abamectin is compatible with other general pesticides but should not be mixed with fungicides.

• Though it is contact- and stomach-active for pests, it poses no harm to humans when applied or accidentally ingested.
